Do you have a goal ?
Like graduating from school, moving abroad, and doing business.
Or like buying a car or a house to winning a basketball game or doing well on a exam.......
I think everyone has goals big and small. But do you have any specific plans to achieve that goal?
In other words, do you have a strategy and a tactic of how to get there, to get you to that goal?
So let's talk about them.
In other words, do you have a strategy and a tactic of how to get there, to get you to that goal?
So let's talk about them.
What are "strategy" and "tactics"?
First, let me explain what I mean by strategy and tactics. These two words sound similar but have completely different meanings.A strategy is simply a scenario or plan for achieving a goal. What does it take to reach that goal and how do you go about achieving it?
Tactics, on the other hand, are about the methods and means of carrying out that strategy.
For example, think of reaching a goal as climbing a mountain.
The road to the top of this mountain includes a gentle but long mountain route, a shorter but steep slope route, and a dangerous but shortest cliff route.
In this case, the strategy is which route to aim for the summit. Climb a gentle mountain path quickly, climb a slope slowly while taking a break, or climb a dangerous cliff by fixing your body with a wire and not falling.
The tactics is to decide how to climb the decided route efficiently.
Of course, you can climb mountains without strategy and tactics. However, if you don't check the information in advance about what kind of road it is, how long it will take, and what kind of dangers there are, and it may take a long time to reach the summit.

In the worst case, you may get seriously injured and have to give up mountain climbing.
Achieving goals is the same. You may be able to achieve your goals without strategy and tactics.
However, by collecting information in advance, confirming what the obstacles and risks are in achieving the goal, and formulating countermeasures, the possibility of achieving the goal increases.
That's why strategy and tactics are so important.
And there was a Chinese general and strategist who emphasized that 2,500 years ago. His name is Sun Tzu.

Sun Tzu was a general, strategist, and author of the Art of War, a strategic book about how to win battles during China's Warring States period 2,500 years ago.
It should be noted that this book has long been read by many military personnel and is said to have been studied by Napoleon and the U.S. Defense Minister however now read by businessmen.
What his strongly emphasizes in this book is the importance of strategy and tactics.
In the days when he lived, losing a battle meant being surrendered to the enemy and being ruled or destroyed and dying.
Today, except for some countries and regions, people in most countries do not risk their lives to fight but business or life achievement could be considered as our fighting.
So let's learn strategies and tactics for achieving goals and success from Sun Tzu's quotes in this book.

Are of war: Sun Tzu quotes
1. "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."
First and foremost importance is information. It is the same now as it was in the past. He said you must know your enemy. If you don't know your enemy's strengths and weaknesses. And you also have to know yourself. What are the obstacles to the goals you want to achieve? Like what is your specialty? Gather all the information you need before starting a battle(challenge).
2. “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory"
As Sun Tzu said, strategy and tactics are important in battle. Without strategy and tactics, he said, battles would not be efficiently, and the chance of winning would be reduced.
3. "He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight."
What Sun Tzu says is that "time" is everything. Ask yourself "Is this right time to do that?" You have to do now? Or When can you reach your goals more easily?
4. "In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity"
No matter how long a difficult situation continues, an opportunity will always come around. Being patient and waiting for the opportunity is also necessary to increase the probability of achieving the goal.
5. "What the greatest importance in the war is extraordinary speed."
Whether in battle, business or sports, speed is most important. After you spent a long, and hard time trying to reach your goals, waiting for the perfect moment to reach them. And when you think the opportunity has arrived, don't hesitate. You have to make the quickest move in your life. Otherwise, you will miss the opportunity.
6. "Believe in yourself"
No matter how good your strategies and tactics are if you think you can't, possibly you lose. So believe yourself as you can achieve it. I hope that's what Sun Tzu wanted to say.
Off course, even the Chinese strategists Sun Tzu who existed 2,500 years ago did not say that if they had strategies and tactics, they would win.
However, he says that gathering information in advance and being prepared, to make strategies and tactics, will increase your chances of winning the battle.
