Life experience in Bangkok, Thailand

After quit my job, I traveled around Thailand for about a month and I decided to come back to live in the capital Bangkok.

However, when I actually lived in Thailand, I encountered language problem. When I was in travel, there were people around me who could speak English, such as hotel employees and tour guides, but most of the people at work and around the apartment could only speak and understand Thai.

Even though prices are cheap, in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, rent is high, and restaurants and Japanese ingredients are so expensive.

In addition, although the company forced me to work 16 hours a day and no day off for minimum salary, which are different from the Japanese labor law, were not comparable to when I was working in Japan.

For that reason, after living in Bangkok for about 6 months, I gave up. But I wanted to see other countries as well, so I went on a trip as a backpacker.

I did not decide the destination or the length of stay, but I crossed northern Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam by land.

What I learned from this trip was that the urban areas of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam economic development is remarkable. On the contrary, I had the impression that Myanmar and Laos have not yet developed.

Most of areas were lower cost of living compare to Bangkok.

I also experienced difficulty of  communications in English with local people in the area where I travel. So definitely I realized that I would better to find a country that people can understand and speak in English.
